The dedication is dated September 1st, 1541, and is addressed to Albrecht IV, Duke of Mecklenburg, Prince of Venden, Count of Schwerin, Rostock and Stargard.

In this work, Ryff has included woodcuts drawn after Vesalius' and Calcar's Tabulae anatomicae sex, as well as birth figures after Rösslin, a representation of eye after Reisch, and 7 brain plates redrawn after Dryander, 1537.
